Editorial Policy

TRANSLATIONES journal is recognized as one of the major journals within the West University. It features research studies, reviews and interviews on currently debated topics in contemporary translation research, through an analytical and comparative approach. It publishes one issue per year.

Its scope comprises:

1) the relationship between tradition and innovation in the historical-epistemological and critical-editorial processes of translation;

2) the relationship between the intraduction, i.e.  importation littéraire sous forme de traduction”, of an author or a work, and what is defined as extraduction, i.e. export in the form of translation;

3) the intercultural perspective in translation;

4) the impact of computerization and digitization on the field of translation (the research and usage of databases and online platforms, the exploration of techniques and methods of automatic translation generation, the fusion between digital efficiency and human skill in machine translation post-editing );

5) the research on the recent history of Romanian translations (from 1990 to the present day) through quantitative and qualitative data analysis (translation fields, authors, editors, translators).

Authors are solely responsible for the ideas presented in the manuscripts accepted for publication. The submitted manuscripts must follow the journal’s formatting guidelines, which can be found in Instructions for authors. The contributions will go through an initial screening carried out by the editorial team, and, if they meet the journal’s standards, they will be submitted to a double-blind peer-review process.

The corrections requested by the reviewers will be made by the authors. The editors take on only the task of correcting possible writing, grammar and formatting errors.
